In a new policy published in the April 2011 issue of Pediatrics (published online March 21), the AAP advises parents to keep their toddlers in rear-facing car seats until age 2, or until they reach the maximum height and weight for their seat. It also advises that most children will need to ride in a belt-positioning booster seat until they have reached 4 feet 9 inches tall and are between 8 and 12 years of age.

A Brief History of Lazar's

Lazar's is a family business started in 1917 by my grandparents Paul and Mary Lazar. For over 95 years my grandparents, my father Victor, my sister Susie, my son Adam, and myself have nurtured the family business and have treasured the confidence our customers place in us. From our humble beginnings when my grandparents and father lived in the back of the store to our current, modern, 9,000 square foot showroom, we have never lost sight of our priorities: Running our business with integrity and treating our employees and customers with respect and gratitude. Our products have always been selected as if they were chosen for our own family. We welcome you into our store as if it were our home. We want you to have a pleasant experience during such an important time of your life.

During the long history of our store, we've been answering this question: "We're first-time parents . . . can you tell us what we need for our nursery?" While styles and colors have changed, the basics haven't. The basics that you need are a place for your baby to sleep, a place to change and dress your baby, a place to store clothing and toys, and a comfortable place to sit with your baby. We always approach designing a nursery with function as a basic priority and then address aesthetics. We are proud that people have been coming to us for over 90 years for beautiful basics and to get answers and advice. Setting up beautiful, well designed and efficient nurseries is what we do. Please visit our real life store where you can see first hand what Lazar's is all about!

Thank you,
Mark Lazar
